Ido was born in South Africa and moved to New Zealand at the age of 8. He began studying business at university and went on to work in property development. After doing part-time work in television commercials, Ido “caught the acting bug”. He gained his first big break on Shortland Street as Daniel Potts and has since starred in Offspring, INXS: Never Tear Us Apart and When We Go To War. Ido has been an ambassador for the 40 Hour Famine and was involved with Junk Free June this year to raise money for the Cancer Society.
Ido is married to Mandy, they have a son Bastion and are expecting their second child later in the year.
