ehan’s career began at the age of 13, when he filed a report for TV1’s “Holmes” programme. Jehan later began writing feature articles for newspapers and magazines, and was a Qantas Media Awardsfinalist twice.
For six years, he reported for “Close Up” and then “Seven Sharp”. The job allowed him to chase stories in every corner of the country – and further afield. He covered the aftermath of the Sydney siege, filmed inside the secretive Gloriavale sect, and confronted the leader of a white supremacists’ club.
At 26, Jehan became the youngest-ever reporter for TVNZ’s flagship current affairs programme,“Sunday”. This year, he lifted the lid on historic child sex abuse, investigated the mental health of our Police officers, and highlighted the remarkable transformation of Kawerau, one of our toughest towns.
Jehan was born and raised in Lower Hutt, but now calls Auckland home. He loves nothing more than sitting down with someone for a raw, real conversation.
