Paul Henry is a well-known media personality and former presenter of ‘Breakfast’ on TVNZ.
Aside from his work on ‘Breakfast’, Paul has been a network newsreader, radio producer, foreign correspondent and senior manager for New Zealand public radio. His career started in England where he worked for BBC Radio and Television with Sir David Attenborough on the ‘World Around Us’ series. After returning to New Zealand he worked as a producer on National Radio.
In 1991 he launched his own radio station in Wairarapa called TODAY FM and worked as the breakfast host. After a year of successful operation he sold the station, which has now become More FM Wairarapa. Henry went on to be a foreign correspondent for Radio Pacific and later became the Drive host on Radio Live. He has been a host on TVNZ’s ‘Breakfast’ since 2004.
Having moved to England with his mother when he was 11, Paul has acquired a keen interest in world events. He travels extensively when he has the chance. In 2004 he travelled to Tibet and Nepal to film an ‘Intrepid Journey’ for Television New Zealand. 2006 saw him travel the world filming a four part documentary for TVNZ called ‘Ends of the Earth’.
Paul lives with his wife Rachael and their three children, Lucy, Sophie, and Bella just north of Auckland where he enjoys boating and gardening.
