Professor Gillett is the leader of the University of Otago Centre for Bioethics , specialising in early learning in medicine, cognitive neuroscience, and also teaches graduate papers in Bioethics.
His memberships include being a fellow of the Royal Society, the Royal Australasian College of Psychiatrists, and the Hastings Center. Professor Gillett’s research ranges quite widely in Bioethics, philosophy, and neuroscience. In Bioethics he is focussed on work regarding end of life care, complementary and alternative medicine, autonomy, and the patient’s journey.
