Rod Oram was born in the UK and spent many years working as an international financial journalist for various publications in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Asia and Europe including the Financial Times of London.
He and his family emigrated to New Zealand in 1997 and Rod became editor of the business section of The New Zealand Herald. Rod has received various awards for his work in journalism in his over forty years of experience.
In 2007, he published a book about the New Zealand economy, Reinventing Paradise. Rod has spent a lot of time helping fast growing companies through his involvement with the ICEHOUSE, the entrepreneurship centre at the University of Auckland’s Business School.
As well as his current work for Sunday Star Times, Rod is a regular commentator on radio and television and a frequent public speaker, in New Zealand and globally, on topics such as business, economics, innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship.
